About Peter Wilkins

Peter started Traditional Wood Flooring in 1997 and has built a reputation for excellence in both renovating antique flooring and laying new in a traditional style.

He began his career in London making reproduction wooden office furniture before moving to Bath in 1989 and setting up a pine stripping and restoration business.

In 1990 he joined the flooring department of the then renowned company, Walcot Reclamation. Two years later he established himself as a specialist reclaimed flooring fitter and kept up his restoration business.

In 1995 Peter gained further experience working with Andwells Antiques (Hartley Witney) dealing in Georgian furniture, before formally launching Traditional Wood Flooring.

Pete Wilkins

“Our overriding passion is working with wooden floors; no two are ever the same. They are often over 100 years old and deserve our respect if they are to last. Our work enhances the wood itself, enabling its history to show through by its patina.

Our satisfaction comes from maintaining and preserving floors; leaving them to be enjoyed for another generation.”
